Korg Padkontrol

Gear lust.

It gets the best of us. We see something and we think we need it just to realize that we were spending money we didn't have. So we decide to do some Spring cleaning and we sell things we think we do not need.

I sold my Padkontrol because I thought I didn't need it. But with all my holiday traveling I am finding myself regretting that move. When I bought my MPC 2500 I thought I wouldn't need that thing. But traveling with the 2500 is a bear. The Airport always freaks out and doesn't know what it is exactly so they always want to take some extra time to look it over. It would come in handy right now because I am heading back to Phx and now I have to drag my 2500 all the way out there.

The goal was to eventually get some sort of firewire audio device that had midi ins and outs on it so I could control my software with the MPC but I have never taken the time to do that. Basically because I have that Axiom to control the soft synths so I just track out the sound from the MPC into Logic.

But man I miss my Korg...

If Reason had a mode where you could take the Redrum and make each loaded sound automatically mute the others like the mute groups in the MPC that would be dope. I guess the Rex player is close because you can draw the samples and pull them back so they sound like they are chopping themselves.

Its been a minute, but im pretty sure u can change the polyphony on the DrRex and achieve the same results???

I think you can set it up where the notes triggered are either one shot or note one but I don't know if they mute each other. Probably do.
